کھلی کتاب کے صفحے الٹتے رہتے ہیں

ہوا چلے نہ چلے دن پلٹتے رہتے ہیں

بس ایک وحشت منزل ہے اور کچھ بھی نہیں

کہ چند سیڑھیاں چڑھتے اترتے رہتے ہیں

مجھے تو روز کسوٹی پہ درد کستا ہے

کہ جاں سے جسم کے بخیے ادھڑتے رہتے ہیں

کبھی رکا نہیں کوئی مقام صحرا میں

کہ ٹیلے پاؤں تلے سے سرکتے رہتے ہیں

یہ روٹیاں ہیں یہ سکے ہیں اور دائرے ہیں

یہ ایک دوجے کو دن بھر پکڑتے رہتے ہیں

بھرے ہیں رات کے ریزے کچھ ایسے آنکھوں میں

اجالا ہو تو ہم آنکھیں جھپکتے رہتے ہیں
