وہ خط کے پرزے اڑا رہا تھا

ہواؤں کا رخ دکھا رہا تھا

بتاؤں کیسے وہ بہتا دریا

جب آ رہا تھا تو جا رہا تھا

کچھ اور بھی ہو گیا نمایاں

میں اپنا لکھا مٹا رہا تھا

دھواں دھواں ہو گئی تھیں آنکھیں

چراغ کو جب بجھا رہا تھا

منڈیر سے جھک کے چاند کل بھی

پڑوسیوں کو جگا رہا تھا

اسی کا ایماں بدل گیا ہے

کبھی جو میرا خدا رہا تھا

وہ ایک دن ایک اجنبی کو

مری کہانی سنا رہا تھا

وہ عمر کم کر رہا تھا میری

میں سال اپنے بڑھا رہا تھا

خدا کی شاید رضا ہو اس میں

تمہارا جو فیصلہ رہا تھا
