اے صنم وصل کی تدبیروں سے کیا ہوتا ہے

وہی ہوتا ہے جو منظور خدا ہوتا ہے

نہیں بچتا نہیں بچتا نہیں بچتا عاشق

پوچھتے کیا ہو شب ہجر میں کیا ہوتا ہے

بے اثر نالے نہیں آپ کا ڈر ہے مجھ کو

ابھی کہہ دیجیے پھر دیکھیے کیا ہوتا ہے

کیوں نہ تشبیہ اسے زلف سے دیں عاشق زار

واقعی طول شب ہجر بلا ہوتا ہے

یوں تکبر نہ کرو ہم بھی ہیں بندے اس کے

سجدے بت کرتے ہیں حامی جو خدا ہوتا ہے

برقؔ افتادہ وہ ہوں سلطنت عالم میں

تاج سر عجز سے نقش کف پا ہوتا ہے
