اک عجب رمز آشنا تھا فراق

دور وہ کب ہوا نگاہوں سے

شام غم کے سلگتے صحرا میں

اک امنڈتی ہوئی گھٹا تھا فراق

امن تھا پیار تھا محبت تھا

رنگ تھا نور تھا نوا تھا فراق

فاصلے نفرتوں کے مٹ جائیں

پیار ہی پیار سوچتا تھا فراق

ہم سے رنج و الم کے ماروں کو

کس محبت سے دیکھتا تھا فراق

عشق انسانیت سے تھا اس کو

ہر تعصب سے ماورا تھا فراق
