پہلے نذر لب و رخسار کرے گی دنیا

پھر تجھے بر سر پیکار کرے گی دنیا

گیسوئے زیست کو سلجھانے میں گزریں گے دن

مجھ سے اس درجہ اگر پیار کرے گی دنیا

چھوڑ دے گی تجھے ٹکرانے کی خاطر اور پھر

در و دیوار سے انکار کرے گی دنیا

مجھ کو منصف کے بھی منصب پہ کرے گی فائز

جھوٹ سے لڑنے کو تیار کرے گی دنیا

مجھ کو مصروف بھی رکھے گا کوئی کار عبث

وقت مصرف پہ یہ بے کار کرے گی دنیا

گیسوئے ظلمت شب مجھ کو چھپا لے نہ کہیں

اس پہلے کہ گرفتار گرے گی دنیا

میں طلب گار ہوں جینے کا نظامیؔ لیکن

جانے کب خواب سے بیدار کرے گی دنیا
