ساحل شام پہ کچھ خواب سے افسانے سے
ڈھونڈھتے رہتے ہیں کچھ لوگ ہیں دیوانے سے
رات پھر عکس کا جمگھٹ سا لگا رہتا ہے
اپنے بیگانے سے اور جانے سے انجانے سے
رات بھر اس کی تمنا کا فسون پیہم
رات بھر خواب میں جلتے ہوئے پروانے سے
ما غلامان در کوئے محمد ہستیم
ہم کو کیا کام کسی اور گلی جانے سے
وہ پکاریں تو حسینؔ ان کی گلی کو دوڑیں
وہ نکالیں تو نکل جائیں خدا خانے سے

DhunDhte rahte hain kuchh log hain diwane se
raat phir aks ka jamghaT sa laga rahta hai
apne begane se aur jaane se anjaane se
raat bhar us ki tamanna ka fusun-e-paiham
raat bhar KHwab mein jalte hue parwane se
ma-ghulaman-e-dar-e-ku-e-mohammad hastem
hum ko kya kaam kisi aur gali jaane se
wo pukaren to 'husain' un ki gali ko dauDen
wo nikalen to nikal jaen KHuda-KHane se
