کنارے پر بھی ہم کو اتنا ڈر کیوں لگ رہا ہے

وہ جس کی جرأت پرواز کے چرچے بہت تھے

وہی طائر ہمیں بے بال و پر کیوں لگ رہا ہے

وہ جس کے نام سے روشن تھے مستقبل کے سب خواب

وہی چہرہ ہمیں نا معتبر کیوں لگ رہا ہے

بہاریں جس کی شاخوں سے گواہی مانگتی تھیں

وہی موسم ہمیں اب بے ثمر کیوں لگ رہا ہے

در و دیوار اتنے اجنبی کیوں لگ رہے ہیں

خود اپنے گھر میں آخر اتنا ڈر کیوں لگ رہا ہے
