نئے سفر کے لیے راستہ نہ مانگے کوئی

بلند ہاتھوں میں زنجیر ڈال دیتے ہیں

عجیب رسم چلی ہے دعا نہ مانگے کوئی

تمام شہر مکرم بس ایک مجرم میں

سو میرے بعد مرا خوں بہا نہ مانگے کوئی

کوئی تو شہر تذبذب کے ساکنوں سے کہے

نہ ہو یقین تو پھر معجزہ نہ مانگے کوئی

عذاب گرد خزاں بھی نہ ہو بہار بھی آئے

اس احتیاط سے اجر وفا نہ مانگے کوئی
