یہ بستی جانی پہچانی بہت ہے

یہاں وعدوں کی ارزانی بہت ہے

شگفتہ لفظ لکھے جا رہے ہیں

مگر لہجوں میں ویرانی بہت ہے

سبک ظرفوں کے قابو میں نہیں لفظ

مگر شوق گل افشانی بہت ہے

ہے بازاروں میں پانی سر سے اونچا

مرے گھر میں بھی طغیانی بہت ہے

نہ جانے کب مرے صحرا میں آئے

وہ اک دریا کہ طوفانی بہت ہے

نہ جانے کب مرے آنگن میں برسے

وہ اک بادل کہ نقصانی بہت ہے
