پھول کتابیں لے جا، تنہا رہنے دے

میرا کمرہ، میرا کمرہ رہنے دے

یار یہ چار قدم کی کیا ہم راہی ہے!

تھوڑی دیر تو دل کو چلتا رہنے دے

اب بھی اس سے تتلی ملنے آتی ہے

بالکنی میں ٹوٹا گملا رہنے دے

کاٹ دے چاہے میری ساری شاخوں کو

جس پر جھول رہا ہے جھولا، رہنے دے

وہ تو دل تھا لیکن یہ تو باغ ہے یار

پیڑ پہ میرا نام تو لکھا رہنے دے

مجھ کو آزادی کا کچھ احساس تو ہو

اس پنجرے میں ایک پرندہ رہنے دے
