برگ ٹھہرے نہ جب ثمر ٹھہرے
ایسے موسم پہ کیا نظر ٹھہرے
عہد کم مایہ کی نگاہوں میں
کاغذی پھول معتبر ٹھہرے
جن کو دعویٰ تھا بے کرانی کا
وہ سمندر بھی بوند بھر ٹھہرے
وہ گیا بھی تو اس کی یادوں کے
کتنے مہمان میرے گھر ٹھہرے
کوئی اپنے لئے بھی ٹھہرے گا
ہم کسی کے لئے اگر ٹھہرے
ہم کھرے تھے دمک اٹھے ورنہ
کس میں ہمت کہ آگ پر ٹھہرے
موت ہے جستجو مسافر کی
ایک لمحہ جو بے خبر ٹھہرے
پوچھ ان سے ہے سخت جانی کیا
آندھیوں میں بھی جو شجر ٹھہرے
خوش ہو دنیا کہ ہم تری خاطر
بزم یاراں میں بے ہنر ٹھہرے
جن سے آصفؔ ہمیں توقع تھی
رابطے وہ بھی مختصر ٹھہرے

kitne mehman mere ghar Thahre
koi apne liye bhi Thahrega
hum kisi ke liye agar Thahre
hum khare the damak uThe warna
kis mein himmat ki aag par Thahre
maut hai justuju musafir ki
ek lamha jo be-KHabar Thahre
puchh un se hai saKHt-jaani kya
aandhiyon mein bhi jo shajar Thahre
KHush ho duniya ki hum teri KHatir
bazm-e-yaran mein be-hunar Thahre
jin se 'asif' hamein tawaqqoa thi
rabte wo bhi muKHtasar Thahre
