خواب ہو جاؤ گے افسانوں میں ڈھل جاؤ گے

اب تو چہروں کے خد و خال بھی پہلے سے نہیں

کس کو معلوم تھا تم اتنے بدل جاؤ گے

اپنے پرچم کا کہیں رنگ بھلا مت دینا

سرخ شعلوں سے جو کھیلو گے تو جل جاؤ گے

دے رہے ہیں تمہیں تو لوگ رفاقت کا فریب

ان کی تاریخ پڑھو گے تو دہل جاؤ گے

اپنی مٹی ہی پہ چلنے کا سلیقہ سیکھو

سنگ مرمر پہ چلو گے تو پھسل جاؤ گے

خواب گاہوں سے نکلتے ہوئے ڈرتے کیوں ہو

دھوپ اتنی تو نہیں ہے کہ پگھل جاؤ گے

تیز قدموں سے چلو اور تصادم سے بچو

بھیڑ میں سست چلو گے تو کچل جاؤ گے

ہم سفر ڈھونڈو نہ رہبر کا سہارا چاہو

ٹھوکریں کھاؤ گے تو خود ہی سنبھل جاؤ گے

تم ہو اک زندۂ جاوید روایت کے چراغ

تم کوئی شام کا سورج ہو کہ ڈھل جاؤ گے

صبح صادق مجھے مطلوب ہے کس سے مانگوں

تم تو بھولے ہو چراغوں سے بہل جاؤ گے
