اتنے زمانے بھر کے ستم دیکھتے رہے

اتنے زمانے بھر کے ستم دیکھتے رہے
پھر بھی خدا کا سب پہ کرم دیکھتے رہے
گھر کو ہمارے سامنے لوٹا گیا مگر
مورت بنے کھڑے ہوئے ہم دیکھتے رہے
مٹی کا اک کھلونا جو بچے سے گر گیا
تب سے ہم اس کی آنکھوں کو نم دیکھتے رہے
دیکھا نہ ہوگا چاند کسی نے قریب سے
تھا روبرو خدا کی قسم دیکھتے رہے
اب تک کسی بھی چہرے پہ ٹھہری نہیں نظر
عرفانؔ کیا تھا تجھ میں جو ہم دیکھتے رہے

ghar ko hamare samne luTa gaya magar
murat bane khaDe hue hum dekhte rahe
miTTi ka ek khilauna jo bachche se gir gaya
tab se hum us ki aankhon ko nam dekhte rahe
dekha na hoga chand kisi ne qarib se
tha ru-ba-ru KHuda ki qasam dekhte rahe
ab tak kisi bhi chehre pe Thahri nahin nazar
'irfan' kya tha tujh mein jo hum dekhte rahe
