دیکھے بھالے رستے تھے

پھر بھی لوگ بھٹکتے تھے

دریا صحرا اور سراب

منظر سارے پھیکے تھے

اک سنجوگ کا قصہ تھا

کتنے بندھن ٹوٹے تھے

دل تو اس کا اجلا تھا

لیکن کپڑے میلے تھے

نظریں دھندلی دھندلی تھیں

چہرے نیلے پیلے تھے

گلیاں کوچے سب جل تھل

ٹوٹ کے بادل برسے تھے

کتنے چاند گہن میں تھے

کتنے تارے ٹوٹے تھے

وقت کے بہتے دریا میں

کتنے سورج ڈوبے تھے

سارا جسم دہک اٹھا

شعلے تو پھر شعلے تھے
