ہستی ہے عدم مری نظر میں

سوجھی ہے یہ ایک عمر بھر میں

او آنکھ چرا کے جانے والے

ہم بھی تھے کبھی تری نظر میں

پھیلاتی ہے پاؤں حسرت دید

ٹھنڈک جو ملی ہے چشم تر میں

کوئی نہ حجاب کام آیا

دیکھا تو وہ تھے مری نظر میں

کم ظرف تھے سارے غنچہ و گل

کیا پھولے ہیں ایک مشت زر میں

اتنا بھی نہ ہو کوئی حیا دار

دیکھا تو سما گئے نظر میں

تارے یہ نہیں ہیں آخر شب

کچھ پھول ہیں دامن سحر میں

ہے عمر رواں کا شمع میں رنگ

گھر بیٹھے گزرتی ہے سفر میں

دنیا ہے جلیلؔ ہاتھ اٹھائے

بیٹھے ہیں کسی کی رہ گزر میں
