راحت نہ مل سکی مجھے مے خانہ چھوڑ کر

گردش میں ہوں میں گردش پیمانہ چھوڑ کر

خم میں سبو میں جام میں نیت لگی رہی

مے خانے ہی میں ہم رہے مے خانہ چھوڑ کر

آنکھوں کو چھوڑ جاؤں الٰہی میں کیا کروں

ہٹتی نہیں نظر رخ جانانہ چھوڑ کر

آتا ہے جی میں ساقئ مہ وش پہ بار بار

لب چوم لوں ترا لب پیمانہ چھوڑ کر

ہوتی کہاں ہے دل سے جدا دل کی آرزو

جاتا کہاں ہے شمع کو پروانہ چھوڑ کر

دو گھونٹ نے بڑھا دیے رندوں کے حوصلے

مینا و خم پہ جھک پڑے پیمانہ چھوڑ کر

پھر بوئے زلف یار نے آ کر ستم کیا

پھر چل دیا مجھے دل دیوانہ چھوڑ کر

یاد آئی کس کی آنکھ کہ رند اٹھ کھڑے ہوئے

پیمانہ توڑ کر مے و مے خانہ چھوڑ کر

دنیا میں عافیت کی جگہ ہے یہی جلیلؔ

جانا کہیں نہ گوشۂ مے خانہ چھوڑ کر
