یہ جو سر نیچے کئے بیٹھے ہیں

جان کتنوں کی لیے بیٹھے ہیں

جان ہم سبزۂ خط پر دے کر

زہر کے گھونٹ پیے بیٹھے ہیں

دل کو ہم ڈھونڈتے ہیں چار طرف

اور یہاں آپ لیے بیٹھے ہیں

واعظو چھیڑو نہ رندوں کو بہت

یہ سمجھ لو کہ پیے بیٹھے ہیں

گوشے آنچل کے ترے سینے پر

ہائے کیا چیز لیے بیٹھے ہیں

دست وحشت کو خبر کر دے کوئی

ہم گریبان سیئے بیٹھے ہیں

ہائے پوچھو نہ تصور کے مزے

گود میں تم کو لیے بیٹھے ہیں

آپ کے ناز اٹھانے والے

جان کو صبر کیے بیٹھے ہیں

بل جبیں پر ہے خدا خیر کرے

آج وہ تیغ لیے بیٹھے ہیں

اس توقع پہ کہ لیں وہ تلوار

سر ہتھیلی پہ لیے بیٹھے ہیں

جان دے دیں گے تمہارے در پر

ہم اب اٹھنے کے لئے بیٹھے ہیں

ذکر کیا جام و سبو کا کہ جلیلؔ

ایک مے خانہ پیے بیٹھے ہیں
