ہمارا کوئی تو پرسان حال رہ جاتا

برا تھا یا وہ بھلا لمحۂ محبت تھا

وہیں پہ سلسلۂ ماہ و سال رہ جاتا

بچھڑتے وقت ڈھلکتا نہ گر ان آنکھوں سے

اس ایک اشک کا کیا کیا ملال رہ جاتا

تمام آئینہ خانے کی لاج رہ جاتی

کوئی بھی عکس اگر بے مثال رہ جاتا

گر امتحان جنوں میں نہ کرتے قیس کی نقل

جمالؔ سب سے ضروری سوال رہ جاتا
