سویرا ہو بھی چکا اور رات باقی ہے

ضرور دل میں ابھی کوئی بات باقی ہے

یہ لوگ کس قدر آرام سے ہیں بیٹھے ہوئے

اگرچہ ہونے کو اک واردات باقی ہے

کچھ اور زخم محبت میں بڑھ گئی ہے کسک

یہ سوچ کر کہ ابھی تو حیات باقی ہے

یہ غم جدا ہے بہت جلدباز تھے ہم تم

یہ دکھ الگ ہے ابھی کائنات باقی ہے

جو میری تیری ملاقات کا سبب تھا کبھی

وہ لمحہ تیرے بچھڑنے کے ساتھ باقی ہے

تمام بیڑیاں تو کاٹ ڈالی ہیں لیکن

جمالؔ قید نفس سے نجات باقی ہے
