سخن سے چاہے نہ رکھنا مطابقت کوئی
وہ آنکھ چُپ ہو تو پھر بولنا بھی مَت کوئی
اِس آب و خاک سے اِک ہاتھ کے بنائے ہوئے
وہ ہم ہیں جن میں نہیں ہے مشابہت کوئی
بچھڑ نہ جائیں دوبارہ جو مِل کے بیٹھے ہیں
چلا نہ دے کہیں پھر بادِ بے جہت کوئی
میں کیسے فرق کروں دوست اور دشمن میں
کہ مجھ سے کرتا ہے مجھ میں منافقت کوئی
عجب تھی مجھ سے مِرے رنج کھینچنے کی اَدا
سو مجھ کو بخش گیا غم کی سلطنت کوئی
رہے گی اب یہ زمیں عمر بھر مدار بدر
کہ اب نہ آئے گا شاید فلک صفت کوئی
نہ خاکِ دشتِ تمنا ہوئے‘ نہ رونقِ شہر
پڑی تھی پاؤں میں زنجیرِ مصلحت کوئی
