کیا جانے کس کی پیاس بجھانے کدھر گئیں

اس سر پہ جھوم کے جو گھٹائیں گزر گئیں

دیوانہ پوچھتا ہے یہ لہروں سے بار بار

کچھ بستیاں یہاں تھیں بتاؤ کدھر گئیں

اب جس طرف سے چاہے گزر جائے کارواں

ویرانیاں تو سب مرے دل میں اتر گئیں

پیمانہ ٹوٹنے کا کوئی غم نہیں مجھے

غم ہے تو یہ کہ چاندنی راتیں بکھر گئیں

پایا بھی ان کو کھو بھی دیا چپ بھی ہو رہے

اک مختصر سی رات میں صدیاں گزر گئیں
