ازل سے تا بہ ابد ایک ہی کہانی ہے

اسی سے ہم کو نئی داستاں بنانی ہے

اجڑ تو سکتا ہے لیکن بدل نہیں سکتا

وہ حق شناس جو اک عہد کی نشانی ہے

خرد کی باتیں کہاں تک کرو گے دیوانو

خرد کے نام پہ کچھ خاک بھی اڑانی ہے

تمہارے رنگ جفا کو بھی ہے قیام کہیں

ہمارے عشق کی منزل تو کامرانی ہے

فقط سمجھنے کے انداز ہیں قدیم و جدید

فسانہ گو کے تو لب پر وہی کہانی ہے

حیات لاکھ ہو فانی مگر یہ سن رکھئے

حیات سے جو ہے مقصود غیر فانی ہے

سنی سنائی پہ ترجیح لاکھ بار اس کو

کتاب دل کی رضاؔ بات آسمانی ہے
