غالباً وقت کی کمی ہے یہاں

ورنہ ہر چیز دیدنی ہے یہاں

سارے رستے ادھر ہی آتے ہیں

یہ جو آباد اک گلی ہے یہاں

یہ ہوا یوں ہی خاک چھانتی ہے

یا کوئی چیز کھو گئی ہے یہاں

زندگی ہی مرا اثاثہ ہے

وہ بھی تقسیم ہو رہی ہے یہاں

کیوں اندھیرا نظر نہیں آتا

کون سی ایسی روشنی ہے یہاں

موت کاسہ اٹھائے پھرتی ہے

اور تہی دست زندگی ہے یہاں

میرے اندر کا شور ہے مجھ میں

ورنہ باہر تو خامشی ہے یہاں

شہر اپنا دکھائی دیتا ہے

ویسے ہر شخص اجنبی ہے یہاں

کون سی شے ہے دائمی غائرؔ

کون سی بات آخری ہے یہاں
