بنے جو شمس و قمر ننگ آسماں نکلے
جنہیں چراغ سمجھتے رہے دھواں نکلے
ذرا سی دیر میں اک رند ہو گیا مومن
یقیں اسے بھی نہ تھا ہم بھی خوش گماں نکلے
نہ ہم میں جوہر غالبؔ نہ ان میں شان ظفرؔ
تو کس قصور میں کوئی قصیدہ خواں نکلے
کسی کی چاہ میں جب جاں بھی ہم گنوا آئے
تو لطف یار کے قصے کہاں کہاں نکلے
میں سوچتا ہوں کہ تاریخ کیا کہے گی ہمیں
سحر بہ دوش چلے شب کے پاسباں نکلے
ہدف ہمیں کو بنانا کہ معتبر ٹھہرو
اس انجمن میں اگر ذکر دوستاں نکلے
جو سنگ میل تھے بے آبرو ہوئے خالدؔ
جو گرد پا بھی نہ تھے میر کارواں نکلے
