کسی کے گھر نہ ماہ و سال کے موسم میں رہتے ہیں

کہ ہم ہجر و وصال یار کے عالم میں رہتے ہیں

وہی گلگوں قبائے یار ہے نظارۂ حیرت

اسی نا مہرباں کے گیسوئے پر خم میں رہتے ہیں

وہی پیاسی زمیں ہے حلقۂ زنجیر کی صورت

وہی اک آسماں جس کے تلے شبنم میں رہتے ہیں

ہمیں یہ رنگ و بو کی بات اب اچھی نہیں لگتی

برا کیا ہے جو ہم اپنی ہی چشم نم میں رہتے ہیں

گزر ہی جائے گی عمر رواں آہستہ آہستہ

اگرچہ علم ہے ہم اک دم بے دم میں رہتے ہیں
