اگر کوئی خلش جاوداں سلامت ہے

تو پھر جہاں میں یہ طرز فغاں سلامت ہے

ابھی تو بچھڑے ہوئے لوگ یاد آئیں گے

ابھی تو درد دل رائگاں سلامت ہے

اگرچہ اس کے نہ ہونے سے کچھ نہیں ہوتا

ہمارے سر پہ مگر آسماں سلامت ہے

سبھی کو شوق شہادت تو ہو گیا ہے مگر

کسی کے دوش پہ سر ہی کہاں سلامت ہے

ہمارے سینے کے یہ زخم بھر گئے ہیں تو کیا

عدو کے تیر عدو کی کماں سلامت ہے

جہاں میں رنج سفر ہم بھی کھینچتے ہیں مگر

جو گم ہوا ہے وہی کارواں سلامت ہے
