سر پندار جھکا جاتا ہے سب کے آگے

مجھ سے وابستہ ازل سے ہے یہی موج سراب

کب سے میں تشنہ دہن ہوں ترے لب کے آگے

اپنے سورج کو بھلا کس کے مقابل رکھئے

ماند پڑ جاتے ہیں سب تاب کے تب کے آگے

آج بھی ہوں میں اسی گریۂ شب میں محصور

جن کو جانا تھا وہ سب جا چکے کب کے آگے

بس اسی واسطے روشن ہے یہ غم خانۂ دل

اک سحر بھی ہے کہیں پر مری شب کے آگے

اور کیا دولت پرویز ملے گی تجھ کو

ہیچ ہیں نقد‌‌ و گہر شعر و ادب کے آگے
