زندگی کیا ہے بجز وہم و گماں میرے لئے

یہ زمیں جب ہو گئی بے آسماں میرے لئے

وہ بدن صحرا بڑھا دیتا ہے پہلے میری پیاس

اور بن جاتا ہے پھر آب رواں میرے لئے

موسم دل نے بکھیرے دل کے باہر اپنے رنگ

رنگ گل اس کے لئے رنگ خزاں میرے لئے

شہر میں لگتی ہے پھر اک روز بجھ جاتی ہے آگ

چھوڑ جاتی ہے مگر سارا دھواں میرے لئے

اس سے ملنے کا سماں اس سے جدائی کی گھڑی

اور پھر کچھ بھی نہیں سود و زیاں میرے لئے

آسمان دل پہ روشن لفظ و معنی کی طرح

ہے زمین شعر کی یہ کہکشاں میرے لئے
