چرچے تری انگشت نمائی کے بہت تھے

دنیا کی طلب ہی سے نہ فرصت ہوئی ورنہ

ارمان ترے در کی گدائی کے بہت تھے

کچھ دل ہی نہ مائل ہوا اس راہ پہ ورنہ

سامان تو جنت کی کمائی کے بہت تھے

کل شب مرے کردار پہ تنقید کی شب تھی

کردار میں پہلو بھی برائی کے بہت تھے

آزار کی خصلت بھی تھی لوگوں میں نمایاں

کچھ شوق بھی اس دل کو بھلائی کے بہت تھے

اب ساتھ نہیں ہے بھی تو شکوہ نہیں اخترؔ

احسان بھی مجھ پر مرے بھائی کے بہت تھے
