ترا خیال اب آتا ہے بات بات کے ساتھ

کٹھن تھا مرحلۂ انتظار صبح بہت

بسر ہوا ہوں میں خود بھی گزرتی رات کے ساتھ

پڑیں تھیں پائے نظر میں ہزار زنجیریں

بندھا ہوا تھا میں اپنے توہمات کے ساتھ

جلوس وقت کے پیچھے رواں میں اک لمحہ

کہ جیسے کوئی جنازہ کسی برات کے ساتھ

کبھی کبھی تو یہ لگتا ہے جیسے یہ دنیا

بدل رہی ہو مرے دل کی واردات کے ساتھ

جو دور سے بھی کسی غم کا سامنا ہو جائے

پکارتا ہے مجھے کتنے التفات کے ساتھ

تڑخ کے ٹوٹ گیا دل کا آئینہ مخمورؔ

پڑا جو عکس فنا پرتو حیات کے ساتھ
