یاد پھر بھولی ہوئی ایک کہانی آئی

دل ہوا خون طبیعت میں روانی آئی

صبح نو نغمہ بہ لب ہے مگر اے ڈوبتی رات

میرے حصے میں تری مرثیہ خوانی آئی

زرد رو تھا کسی صدمے سے ابھرتا سورج

یہ خبر ڈوبتے تاروں کی زبانی آئی

ہر نئی رت میں ہم افسردہ و دلگیر رہے

یا تو گزرے ہوئے موسم کی جوانی آئی

پا گئے زندگی نو کئی مٹتے ہوئے رنگ

ذہن میں جب کوئی تصویر پرانی آئی

خشک پتوں کو چمن سے یہ سمجھ کر چن لو

ہاتھ شادابی رفتہ کی نشانی آئی

یاد کا چاند جو ابھرا تو یہ آنکھیں ہوئیں نم

غم کی ٹھہری ہوئی ندی میں روانی آئی

دل بہ ظاہر ہے سبک دوش تمنا مخمورؔ

پھر طبیعت میں کہاں کی یہ گرانی آئی
