آوارگان صحرا کوئے صنم نہ ڈھونڈیں
جلووں کی وہ بہاریں زلفوں کے خم نہ ڈھونڈیں
اے شہر سنگ تجھ میں زخموں کی کیا کمی ہے
تیغ ادائے جلوہ بہتر ہے ہم نہ ڈھونڈیں
وہ آبروئے وحشت لائیں تو اب کہاں سے
وہ جنت تمنا وہ دشت غم نہ ڈھونڈیں
حاصل نہ ہوگا کچھ بھی جز داغ و درد عبرت
اہل وفا ہمارا نقش قدم نہ ڈھونڈیں
مقصد ہے صرف اتنا وعدوں کی چاندنی کا
خواب سحر تو دیکھیں تعبیر ہم نہ ڈھونڈیں
ہم بے نیاز گزرے شہرت کی سازشوں سے
نام و نشاں ہمارا اہل قلم نہ ڈھونڈیں
جاں دی سروشؔ ہم نے راہ خلوص غم میں
فرد عمل ہماری دیر و حرم نہ ڈھونڈیں

ai shahr-e-sang tujh mein zaKHmon ki kya kami hai
tegh-e-ada-e-jalwa behtar hai hum na DhunDen
wo aabru-e-wahshat laen to ab kahan se
wo jannat-e-tamanna wo dasht-e-gham na DhunDen
hasil na hoga kuchh bhi juz dagh-o-dard-e-ibrat
ahl-e-wafa hamara naqsh-e-qadam na DhunDen
maqsad hai sirf itna wadon ki chandni ka
KHwab-e-sahar to dekhen tabir hum na DhunDen
hum be-niyaz guzre shohrat ki sazishon se
nam-o-nishan hamara ahl-e-qalam na DhunDen
jaan di 'sarosh' hum ne rah-e-KHulus-e-gham mein
fard-e-amal hamari dair-o-haram na DhunDen
