کل جو تم ایدھر سے گزرے ہم نظر کر رہ گئے

جی میں تھا کچھ کہیے لیکن آہ ڈر کر رہ گئے

جب نہ کچھ بس چل سکا اپنا تو پھر حسرت سے ہائے

دیکھ کر منہ کو ترے اک آہ بھر کر رہ گئے

سر بہت پٹکا قفس میں اپنا ہم نے ہم صفیر

کوئی نہ پہنچا داد کو فریاد کر کر رہ گئے

نامہ بر کی یا کبوتر کی کہ دل کی رکھیے آس

اپنے تو یاں سے گئے جو واں وہ مر کر رہ گئے

کل کسی کا ذکر خیر آیا تھا مجلس میں حسنؔ

اس دل بے تاب پر ہم ہاتھ دھر کر رہ گئے
