بس ایک اپنے ہی قدموں کی چاپ سنتا ہوں

میں کون ہوں کہ بھرے شہر میں بھی تنہا ہوں

جہاں میں جسم تھا تو نے وہاں تو ساتھ دیا

وہاں بھی آ کہ جہاں میں تمام سایا ہوں

وہ ایک موڑ بھی اس رہ پہ آئے گا کہ جہاں

ملا کے ہاتھ تو بولے گا میں تو چلتا ہوں

تری جدائی کا غم ہے نہ تیرے ملنے کا

میں اپنی آگ میں دن رات جلتا رہتا ہوں

گئے وہ روز کہ تو باعث قرار تھی جب

تری جھلک سے بھی اب تو اداس ہوتا ہوں

مرے بغیر ہے ممکن کہاں تری تکمیل

مجھے پکار کہ میں ہی ترا کنارا ہوں

کبھی تو ڈوب سہی شام کے سمندر میں

کہ میں سدا ہی جواہر نکال لایا ہوں
