حشر ظلمات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

اس گھنی رات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

برف احساس نہ گل جائے کہیں

سیل اوقات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

تو بھی اے دوست نہ ہو جائے جدا

اب ہر اک بات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

یہ کڑی دھوپ دہکتا سورج

سائے کے سات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

ہائے وہ رینگتی تنہائی جب

اپنی ہی ذات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

کیسے دیکھیں گے وہ اجڑی آنکھیں

اب ملاقات سے دل ڈرتا ہے

زخم ہو جائیں گے باغوں کے ہرے

شامؔ برسات سے دل ڈرتا ہے
