شبنم نے کب اس بات سے انکار کیا ہے

کرنوں نے سدا اس سے بہت پیار کیا ہے

شاخوں پہ اب الزام کوئی باد صبا کیوں

تو نے ہی تو ہر شاخ کو تلوار کیا ہے

کس کس پہ کئے لطف و کرم شہر طرب نے

ہم پر بھی کوئی سایۂ دیوار کیا ہے

کچھ سختیٔ امروز تو کچھ یہ بھی کہ یارو

قرض غم فردا نے گراں بار کیا ہے

جنگ اپنے مقدر سے خریدی ہے کہ ہم نے

اک شخص ہے دل دے کی جسے یار کیا ہے

اک لمحے کے احساس نے تنہا سفری میں

برسوں کے لئے وقت سے ہشیار کیا ہے

ہوگا کوئی بھید اس میں کہ نام اپنا ہمیں نے

بد نام سر کوچہ و بازار کیا ہے

جس دشت سے لائے تھے وہیں لے چلو یارو

کیوں ایسے خرابے میں ہمیں خار کیا ہے

خوش ہوتے ہیں شعروں سے سمجھتے ہیں کہاں لوگ

شاعر نے کسی درد کا اظہار کیا ہے
