طائر کے لیے دن رات کا ڈر

دہلیز پہ رزق اور طاق میں گھر

سب روزن زنداں بند ہوئے

یا کچھ نہ رہا زنداں سے ادھر

باہر یہ قدم نکلیں تو کھلے

زنجیر مدد کرتی ہے کہ در

مقتل کی زمیں سے پھول اگیں

جاتا ہے کہیں مٹی کا اثر

نیند آتی ہے اس کے سائے میں

گر جائے یہ دیوار اگر

ہم سوگ ہیں جاگے سپنوں کا

اے رات ہمیں محسوس نہ کر

جلووں سے بہت نزدیک ہو تم

اے بو الہوسو دامن پہ نظر

ہے اپنا قیام اس عالم میں

شبنم کا بسیرا کانٹے پر

یا صرف ڈگر تھی وقت نہ تھا

اب صرف ہے وقت کا نام ڈگر

کچھ اپنی پیاسیں بجھ بھی گئیں

کچھ قرض ہیں دریا نوشوں پر
