یا روز اٹھ کے سر کو پھرایا تو کیا ہوا

ان نے تو مجھ کو جھوٹے بھی پوچھا نہ ایک بار

میں نے اسے ہزار جتایا تو کیا ہوا

خواہاں نہیں وہ کیوں ہی میں اپنی طرف سے یوں

دل دے کے اس کے ہاتھ بکا تو کیا ہوا

اب سعی کر سپہر کہ میرے موئے گئے

اس کا مزاج مہر پہ آیا تو کیا ہوا

مت رنجہ کر کسی کو کہ اپنے تو اعتقاد

دل ڈھائے کر جو کعبہ بنایا تو کیا ہوا

میں صید ناتواں بھی تجھے کیا کروں گا یاد

ظالم اک اور تیر لگایا تو کیا ہوا

کیا کیا دعائیں مانگی ہیں خلوت میں شیخ یوں

ظاہر جہاں سے ہاتھ اٹھایا تو کیا ہوا

وہ فکر کر کہ چاک جگر پاوے التیام

ناصح جو تو نے جامہ سلایا تو کیا ہوا

جیتے تو میرؔ ان نے مجھے داغ ہی رکھا

پھر گور پر چراغ جلایا تو کیا ہوا
