اب جو خواب گراں سے جاگے ہیں
پاؤں سر پر رکھے ہیں بھاگے ہیں
خار حسرت بھرے ہیں آنکھوں میں
پاؤں میں خواہشوں کے تاگے ہیں
خوف ہے وسوسے ہیں لیکن شکر
عزم و ہمت جو اپنے آگے ہیں
رخت امید ہے سفر کی جاں
ساز و ساماں تو کچے دھاگے ہیں
تم سے ملنا تو اک بہانہ ہے
ہم تو دراصل خود سے بھاگے ہیں
لاگ لاگے نہیں لگی احمدؔ
ہم جو سوئے تو بھاگ جاگے ہیں
