یہ الگ بات وہ نزدیک رگ جاں ہی رہے
اور ہوں گے جنہیں ملتا ہے سکون خاطر
ہم تری بزم میں آ کر بھی پریشاں ہی رہے
اک فقط بزم نگاراں ہی پہ موقوف نہیں
ہم سر دار بھی اے دوست غزل خواں ہی رہے
یہ بھی ممکن ہے کوئی آئے سر راہ وفا
یہ بھی ممکن ہے مرے بعد یہ ویراں ہی رہے

ye alag baat wo nazdik rag-e-jaan hi rahe
aur honge jinhen milta hai sukun-e-KHatir
hum teri bazm mein aa kar bhi pareshan hi rahe
ek faqat bazm-e-nigaran hi pe mauquf nahin
hum sar-e-dar bhi ai dost ghazal-KHwan hi rahe
ye bhi mumkin hai koi aae sar-e-rah-e-wafa
ye bhi mumkin hai mere baad ye viran hi rahe
