Khalid Ahmad was born on 5 June 1943. He was a Pakistani Urdu Poet and also a newspaper journalist. He was a columnist at daily newspaper Nawa-i-Waqt at Lahore. He used to write column ‘lamha lamha’. Khalid Ahmed was a poet and playwright as well. Hajra Masroor and Khatija Mastoor are the sisters of Khalid Ahmed.  Both sisters are internationally famous for Urdu language fiction writers.

After receiving his Masters of Science degree he joined Water and Power Development Authority which is a government agency. He also wrote several books such as Daraaz Palkoun Ke Saey Saey and Aik Muthi Hawa.

Ahmad died on 19 March 2013 after suffering from lung cancer for a few months.
