ایک میں اور اتنے لاکھوں سلسلوں کے سامنے

ایک صوت گنگ جیسے گنبدوں کے سامنے

مٹتے جاتے نقش دود دم کی آمد رفت سے

کھلتے جاتے بے صدا لب آئنوں کے سامنے

ہے ہوائے سیر آب اور اجنبی سی سر زمیں

اڑ رہی ہے خاک کہنہ ساحلوں کے سامنے

آگ جلتی ہے گھروں میں یا کوئی تصویر ہے

یادگار جرم آدم خاکیوں کے سامنے

دشمنی رسم جہاں ہے دوستی حرف غلط

آدمی تنہا کھڑا ہے ظالموں کے سامنے

چار چپ چیزیں ہیں بحر و بر فلک اور کوہسار

دل دہل جاتا ہے ان خالی جگہوں کے سامنے

باطن زردار پر اسرار ہے جیسے منیرؔ

کان زر کی بند ہیبت مشعلوں کے سامنے
