نواح وسعت میداں میں حیرانی بہت ہے

دلوں میں اس خرابی سے پریشانی بہت ہے

کہاں سے ہے کہاں تک ہے خبر اس کی نہیں ملتی

یہ دنیا اپنے پھیلاؤ میں انجانی بہت ہے

بڑی مشکل سے یہ جانا کہ ہجر یار میں رہنا

بہت مشکل ہے پر آخر میں آسانی بہت ہے

بسر جتنی ہوئی بے کار و بے منزل زمانے میں

مجھے اس زندگانی پر پشیمانی بہت ہے

نکل آتے ہیں رستے خود بہ خود جب کچھ نہ ہوتا ہو

کہ مشکل میں ہمیں خوابوں کی ارزانی بہت ہے

بہت رونق ہے بازاروں میں گلیوں اور محلوں میں

پر اس رونق سے شہر دل میں ویرانی بہت ہے
