لہو امید کا ہم سے طلب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

نکلتی ہی نہیں دل سے کبھی یادیں محبت کی

ستم اس دل پہ اپنے روز و شب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

پرانے لوگ رہتے ہیں نگاہوں میں سدا میری

کوئی پیش نظر نام و نسب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

کوئی صورت تباہی کی نکلتی رہتی ہے اکثر

اجڑنے کا کوئی تازہ سبب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

ہمیشہ خون کرتے ہیں ہماری آرزوؤں کا

تمناؤں کا نذرانہ طلب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

یہ لڑنا اور جھگڑنا ہے سبھی معمول کی باتیں

خفا ہم سے وہ اکثر بے سبب ہوتا ہی ہوتا ہے

ستاروں کی طرف اٹھتی ہی رہتی ہے نظر اپنی

شب تاریک میں ایسا تو سب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

قیامت ہوتی رہتی ہے بپا اب شہر میں ہر سو

یہاں محشر بپا اے دوست اب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے

سخن پامال ہوتا ہے نبیلؔ اس عہد میں ہر پل

یہاں پامال ہر لمحہ ادب ہوتا ہی رہتا ہے
