لے گیا دل کون میرا سو بشر کے سامنے
کس کی صورت پھرتی ہے یا رب نظر کے سامنے
امتحان حسن آئینے میں لیتے ہیں مدام
رکھ کے وہ تصویر یوسف کو نظر کے سامنے
دور آبادی سے رکھنا اپنے دیوانے کو یار
گھر نہ آ جائے کسی کا چشم تر کے سامنے
خط کہاں وہ انتظار خط کی بھی لذت گئی
حیف کیوں رویا میں اس کے نامہ بر کے سامنے
یار سے نایابؔ اب منہ پھیرنا اچھا نہیں
طوطیٔ دل باندھ شہباز نظر کے سامنے

rakh ke wo taswir-e-yusuf ko nazar ke samne
dur aabaadi se rakhna apne diwane ko yar
ghar na aa jae kisi ka chashm-e-tar ke samne
KHat kahan wo intizar-e-KHat ki bhi lazzat gai
haif kyon roya main us ke nama-bar ke samne
yar se 'nayab' ab munh pherna achchha nahin
tuti-e-dil bandh shahbaz-e-nazar ke samne
