مر مر کے جی رہے ہیں مگر صبح و شام لوگ

یہ بھوک یہ ہوس یہ تنزل یہ وحشتیں

تعمیر کر رہے ہیں یہ کیسا نظام لوگ

بربادیوں نے مجھ کو بہت سرخ رو کیا

کرنے لگے ہیں اب تو مرا احترام لوگ

انکار کر رہا ہوں تو قیمت بلند ہے

بکنے پہ آ گیا تو گرا دیں گے دام لوگ

اس عہد میں انا کی حفاظت کے واسطے

پھرتے ہیں لے کے ہاتھ میں خالی نیام لوگ

بیٹھے ہیں خود ہی پاؤں میں زنجیر ڈال کر

حیراں ہوں بزدلی کے ہیں کتنے غلام لوگ

کس کس کا اعتبار کریں شہر میں نفسؔ

چہرہ بدل بدل کے ملے ہیں تمام لوگ
