پلکوں پہ بھلا کب یہ ٹھہرنے کے لئے تھے
موتی مری آنکھوں کے بکھرنے کے لئے تھے
چمکے نہ کسی طور بھی زندہ رہے جب تک
ہم خاک میں مل کر ہی نکھرنے کے لئے تھے
اچھا ہے کہ اب صاف ہی کہہ دیجیے صاحب
وعدے جو کئے تھے وہ مکرنے کے لئے تھے
ہم آج تری راہ میں کام آ گئے آخر
زندہ ہی ترے نام پہ مرنے کے لئے تھے
اچھا نہیں لگتا تھا ترے ہجر میں جینا
ہم لوٹ گئے تھے تو بکھرنے کے لئے تھے
ہم لوگ سزا وار نہ تھے وادئ گل کے
کانٹوں بھری راہوں سے گزرنے کے لئے تھے
احباب بھی دشمن نظر آتے ہیں نظیرؔ آج
چہروں پہ لگے چہرے اترنے کے لئے تھے
