مجھے یہ سن کے حیرانی بہت ہے
تمہاری آنکھ میں پانی بہت ہے
ترے دل پہ حکومت چاہتا ہوں
مجھے اتنی ہی سلطانی بہت ہے
مجھے اپنا مخالف مانتا ہے
مرے بیٹے میں نادانی بہت ہے
کسی کے سامنے حاجت تو رکھ دیں
مگر اس میں پشیمانی بہت ہے
الٰہی اس مرض سے دور رکھنا
محبت میں پریشانی بہت ہے
مری بربادیوں میں ناظمؔ اشرف
مرے اپنوں کی قربانی بہت ہے

ilahi is maraz se dur rakhna
mohabbat mein pareshani bahut hai
meri barbaadiyon mein 'nazim'-ashraf
mere apnon ki qurbani bahut hai
