زمین جب بھی ہوئی کربلا ہمارے لیے

تو آسمان سے اترا خدا ہمارے لیے

انہیں غرور کہ رکھتے ہیں طاقت و کثرت

ہمیں یہ ناز بہت ہے خدا ہمارے لیے

تمہارے نام پہ جس آگ میں جلائے گئے

وہ آگ پھول ہے وہ کیمیا ہمارے لیے

بس ایک لو میں اسی لو کے گرد گھومتے ہیں

جلا رکھا ہے جو اس نے دیا ہمارے لیے

وہ جس پہ رات ستارے لیے اترتی ہے

وہ ایک شخص دعا ہی دعا ہمارے لیے

وہ نور نور دمکتا ہوا سا اک چہرا

وہ آئینوں میں حیا ہی حیا ہمارے لیے

درود پڑھتے ہوئے اس کی دید کو نکلیں

تو صبح پھول بچھائے صبا ہمارے لیے

عجیب کیفیت جذب و حال رکھتی ہے

تمہارے شہر کی آب و ہوا ہمارے لیے

دیئے جلائے ہوئے ساتھ ساتھ رہتی ہے

تمہاری یاد تمہاری دعا ہمارے لیے

زمین ہے نہ زماں نیند ہے نہ بے داری

وہ چھاؤں چھاؤں سا اک سلسلہ ہمارے لیے

سخن وروں میں کہیں ایک ہم بھی تھے لیکن

سخن کا اور ہی تھا ذائقہ ہمارے لیے
