زندگی بے سائباں بے گھر کہیں ایسی نہ تھی

آسماں ایسا نہیں تھا اور زمیں ایسی نہ تھی

ہم بچھڑنے سے ہوئے گمراہ ورنہ اس سے قبل

میرا دامن تر نہ تھا تیری جبیں ایسی نہ تھی

اب جو بدلا ہے تو اپنی روح تک حیران ہوں

تیری جانب سے میں شاید بے یقیں ایسی نہ تھی

بد گمانی جب نہ تھی تو بھی نہیں تھا معترض

میں بھی تیری شخصیت پر نکتہ چیں ایسی نہ تھی

کیا مرے دل اور کیا آنکھوں کا حصہ ہے مگر

چادر شب اس سے پہلے شبنمیں ایسی نہ تھی

کیا ہوا آئی کہ اتنے پھول دل میں کھل گئے

پچھلے موسم میں یہ شاخ یاسمیں ایسی نہ تھی
